Our Mission
IR/PS Student Affairs coordinates curriculum, events, resources and support services to ensure that your time at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies is both educational and rewarding. Our mission is to not only administer extraordinary and rigorous academic programs, but to develop leaders who will shape the Pacific Century.
IR/PS Student Affairs can address student concern regarding academic policy, commencement, events, financial resources, housing, international student services, personal support services, student groups, student orientation, summer preparatory programs, and university policies. Information about these subjects can be also be found by browsing the navigation menu to the left of this screen.
If you are an IR/PS student in the San Diego area, please stop by our offices in room 4209-4211 of the Robinson Building Complex during normal business hours. If you are an IR/PS student living abroad, please email us with your question or concern. Prospective students should contact the IR/PS Admissions office, which specializes in providing applicants guidance and information regarding the UCSD graduate admissions processes.
Meet the Team
Amanda Randolph Steidlmayer
Director of Student Affairs
Amanda’s professional expertise center on data analysis for the purpose of organizational and policy development. She has worked as an analyst with Government Accountability Office, and as a private consultant specializing in antitrust litigation in the energy industry with clients such as ExxonMobil, El Paso Energy Company and Pacific Gas and Electricity. Her prior academic experience includes serving as the program coordinator for the Program on Housing and Urban Planning at UC Berkeley, and as a teaching assistant in the areas of business leadership, organizational communication, and quantitative methods at UC San Diego and UC Davis. Amanda earned a Master of pacific international affairs at UC San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science in community and regional development at UC Davis.
Nathalie Morales
Academic Advisor
Nathalie brings to Student Affairs an extensive knowledge of international education. Prior to joining IR/PS, Nathalie worked at the US-UK Fulbright Commission in London, England. She has experience as a educator, teaching conversational English in Shenzhen, China. Nathalie has previous experience as a “global kids” instructor at the UCSD summer camps, instructing children about the cultures of various countries. She earned her Master of Arts in international studies at Concordia University and a Bachelor of Arts in human development from UC San Diego. Nathalie has also studied in the France, Spain and the United States.
