Curriculum
MAS-IA program participants will complete a total of 48 degree units (12 courses) over three academic quarters.
Components of the MAS-IA Curriculum Include:
MAS-IA Core
Two specially designed courses, offered during the fall quarter, are devoted to the politics and economics of the Pacific region, and provide a solid foundation in the study of international affairs.
IRCO 481 Politics of international and National Policy Making
IRCO 482 Economies of the Pacific Rim
MAS-IA Capstone
The capstone course, offered in the spring, provides an integrative analytical exercise and an individual written report and oral presentation.
IRCO 483 Workshop on Policy Issues in the Pacific Rim
Regional Electives
Choise of two IR/PS courses that focus on one or more of the following regions: China, Japan, Korea, Latin America, or Southeast Asia.
Career Tracks
In consultation with a faculty advisor, students will choose three classes within one of three career tracks: International Security, International Political Economy, or International Public Policy.
Four additional classes are chosen from any offered at IR/PS.
