Global Leadership Institute
Welcome to the Global Leadership Institute*
The Global Leadership Institute (GLI) is a professional training program situated in a top 10 US international affairs university. GLI has several programs of study. It serves as a graduate-level, executive education program designed for working professionals (from both the public and private sectors) seeking to expand their international knowledge and experience within their field as well as various aspects of international management, international relations, and comparative public policy. Your program of study is tailored to individual interests and provides close interaction with internationally renowned faculty and policy-makers. Professional tours to U.S. public and private sector organizations are also available for GLI fellows. Participants also have the opportunity to learn English or other languages of the Pacific Rim. For more reasons why you should join GLI, click here.
GLI also offers customized programming for groups of professionals from a specific occupation. These programs range from one day to six months. To provide a few examples, we have offered courses in areas such as energy economics, international real estate, international business strategies, U.S. government and politics, and highway infrastructure and urban planning.
GLI serves as a study abroad destination for graduate students who wish to enroll in courses offered through our Master of Pacific International Affairs to fulfill a study abroad requirement. Master’s and doctoral students may also enroll to obtain access to UCSD’s research facilities and programming provided by GLI.
Professionals or graduate students enrolling in GLI may choose to begin their studies three times per year, with quarters starting in September, January, or April. Your duration of study is also flexible, with GLI Fellows choosing to study from one quarter (11 weeks) to two years. Upon completion of your program, GLI awards each participant a certificate, which recognizes your successful achievement.
