Dean's Fellow, 2009-2010

Equipped with solid analytical skills, Qiuqing Tai's passion involves using statistical tools to evaluate the effectiveness of non-governmental organization (NGO) programs. She is a long-time volunteer of research and evaluation for the Special Olympics International (SOI) Inc., where she helped evaluate the policy impact of SOI's health programs and conducted data analyses in determining the factors that lead to health problems. Her research results were presented by the SOI at the American Public Health Association (APHA) conference, and were used to obtain SOI funding.

Prior to coming to IR/PS, she completed her undergraduate study in broadcast and television journalism at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with media groups, consulting firms, and international non-profit organizations. In this time, she also studied microeconomics and multi-media productions at Yale and at the University of North Carolina.

Born and raised in Shanghai, Qiuqing speaks native Chinese, fluent English, and conversational French. In her leisure time, she likes to playing the piano, sing, shoot videos and swim.
