Eric's focusing is on gaining strategic and financial management and organizational leadership skills. He is the president of the UC San Diego chapter of Net Impact, which is a worldwide organization that promotes socially and environmentally responsible business. As such, he has helped launch several new initiatives including a Board Fellows program to help place IR/PS and Rady School of Management students in fellowships with the Boards of Directors of local non-profits. He also helped coordinate a new Environmental Policy and Business Forum, which involves a series of quarterly networking events that include panels of local leaders and experts. In addition, he has coordinated contests to promote sustainability at UC San Diego and organized numerous other networking opportunities.
Over the summer, Eric gained valuable experience interning at the international development organization Project Concern International (PCI). While at PCI, he created a Country Start-Up Manual, which provided Country Directors with a comprehensive resource for opening field offices in new countries. The document included detailed instructions and tools to facilitate the process of registering a new operation and legally conducting business in a host country, setting up financial accounting and IT systems, purchasing office equipment, and hiring staff.
Previously, Eric worked as the Study Abroad Advisor and International Student Exchange Coordinator for the University of the Pacific, where he managed a study abroad office that administered over 100 programs, supervised 3 student staff, and advised 150 students per year. In addition to his international background, he worked as a Web Content Strategist for an Internet services company where he advised Fortune 1000 clients on web site development.
