Cuifen Zhang is a second year MPIA student originally from Guangzhou, China. She accomplished a bachelor's degree in law, concentrating on international economic law, at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2006. After graduation, she worked for two years as an international trade specialist at Masson Group, a large enterprise manufacturing personal care products, food additives, and pharmaceuticals, in Guangzhou, and later became a sales lead in the overseas markets of Latin America, South/Southeast Asia, and North/South Africa.

At IR/PS, Zhang focuses her studies on strategic management and innovation in both private and non-profit sectors, especially green business and environmental organizations. Her extensive travel in China, Southeast Asia, and the U.S. has also provided her with insight into the business environment and social development in these important countries of the Pacific region. In the spring of 2009, she worked as a research intern at World Trade Center San Diego on such projects as renewable energy industry development in China and IT outsourcing in Hong Kong. During the summer, she served her internship at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia, taking charge of trend analysis in environmental think tanks and environmental policies in Asia and Europe. At the present of time, she is working on a team project with Vital Wave Consulting on green energy solutions for off-grid household and small business in India.
