Brian Park has a substantial background in quantitative research, ranging from statistical modeling of workforce attrition to linear programming of raw material optimization. He grew up speaking Korean and English, and is interested in broadening his research to various issues involved in the re-unification of South and North Korea. During his first year as an IR/PS student, Park served as president of the IR/PS Korean culture student organization, Mannam, and worked as a methodology consultant for the San Diego County Environmental Report Card. He represented IR/PS abroad in Korea and China as National Security Education Program Boren Fellow during the 2008-2009 school year, returning to complete his second year studies in 2009-1010.
