Annie Schowalter is a management professional with international business, non-profit development, and foundation experience. She has a demonstrated ability to improve organizational productivity and the quality of deliverables while increasing revenue. At IR/PS, Annie is the president of the Development Club, taskforce director for Net Impact, and a consultant with the Baja Project

As a consultant in Baja California, Annie applied skills gained at IR/PS to lead the design of a field research survey. The data collected is being used to complete a cost-benefit analysis of the water sourcing options for a remote fishing community. In addition, she uses her IR/PS toolkit as business development manager for Sustainable Energy Services Afghanistan (SESA). SESA draws upon Annie’s training in business, policy, and development to support Afghan economic development. Annie’s prior business experience includes management responsibility for million dollar systems integration projects for customers such as Ryder de Mexico and the New York Container Terminal. This experience has proven invaluable as she helps SESA define its business strategy, creates project proposals, and designs a standardized project delivery methodology.

Annie believes that business fundamentals are essential for strong economic development programs. After graduation, she plans to continue her work in international development. She has a particular interest in emerging markets analysis, renewable energy, economic empowerment, women’s issues, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
