Cultural Traditions of the Pacific

Cultural Traditions of the Pacific (CTP) is a graduate student organization which focuses on the promotion of all forms of cultural tradition from the Pacific region including dance, music, visual arts, film, and food. CTP is deeply convinced that international communication depends on academic knowledge as well as on cultural awareness and understanding. CTP provides current students with the opportunity to pursue existing interests in the cultures of the Pacific, as well as to develop new ones.

CTP started in 2006 as an informal recreational dance group, affectionately named  “Dancing with the IRPS”, but later expanded its platform to other cultural forms. The organization coordinates interactive and hands-on activities, including dance and art classes, organized cultural outings to festivals, film screenings, and performances, and participates in public events at IR/PS, including, but not limited to, the annual Asian New Year, Latin American Festival, Spring Talent Show, and Admitted Students' Day.
