“I am assessing the impact of increased competition among lenders and its effect on the health of the microfinance community. This project involves intensive data analysis and qualitative interviews. Microfinance is a rapidly growing field with numerous issues to research. My participation in this program has been both rewarding and challenging. I look forward to applying the skills I have learned and appreciate the support I have received from IR/PS and the donors.”

“I work for an independent research group at IFMR, Center for Microfinance. We’re conducting an impact study of a business training program with the help of SEWA Bank. In the short time I have been here, I have developed really good relationships with my coworkers and the professors who are running the program from abroad. They have asked my supervisor and me to conduct qualitative studies to supplement my quantitative study. This week, I will be putting together a focus group and conducting interviews."
