Dr. Jodi Finkel '92
Jodi is currently an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Loyola Marymount University. She teaches courses dealing with political and economic challenges in the developing world. Further, she investigates judicial reform and human rights in Latin America and has conducted research in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, and Ecuador. Jodi has presented her work at conferences in the United States, Latin America and Europe, and has published several articles on judicial reform (in LARR, JLAS, and LAPS). Her book, Judicial Reform as Political Insurance: Latin America in the 1990's, is expected to be published this Spring. Jodi is a founder of MuJER (a literacy program for sex workers in Guatemala) and is also a founding board member of HOY, a non-profit organization (www.hoycommunity.org) that brings young people from around the world to volunteer in Mexico City. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Democracy Council (www.democracycouncil.org).
