July 2006

Emily Chargin is enjoying her job as an economist for the federal government in Washington, D.C. Last January, she had the opportunity to catch up with Professor Hanson at the American Economic Association conference in Boston.

February 2006

Abbey Lin is the program officer for China for the Grameen Foundation USA.

August 2005

Becky Jeng works and lives in the greater LA area (working in Irwindale, living in Alhambra). She was hired as a sales manager for a gift company called Unison Gifts, but she also does a lot of product design and communication with Chinese factories. She will travel to China on a purchasing trip in October. Currently, she designs a line of Native American figurines and glass penguins.

Kevin A. Gee is currently a doctoral student at Harvard University studying International Education and will enter the research phase of his program in 2006-7. He very much enjoys life at Harvard and has been busy this summer with teaching duties. He just finished off a Master's students seminar and then he will be doing some work with the incoming cohort of doctoral students.

June 2005

Brooke Lord and her husband moved up to Portland, Oregon in January. Brooke took a job with Nike in Asia Pacific Strategy and her husband took a job with Deloitte as an auditor. Although they miss the weather in San Diego, they really like Portland.

May 2005

Yuxia (Helen) Bi will join her husband at Oklahoma State University to get a Master's degree in Accounting. She plans to get the degree in no more than 3 semesters and hopes to graduate by the end of 2006.

April 2005

Aysha Handley just began a year contract as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of RelayHealth, a company that provides secure, on-line health care communication. This position is supposed to spin off into a regulatory affairs (government relations) role once she is more familiar with the business.

January 2005

Matthew Hill has moved to Shanghai and is working for a US software company called Trilogy. He is responsible for setting up their new software development office in China.

December 2004

Rithya Tang relocated to Kuala Lampur, Malaysia to work for a U.S. telecom company doing business development in the Asia region.

Brian Richter is at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC as a research assistant in the Division of International Finance.

November 2004

Julia Christman moved back to Seattle after graduation. She is now a development officer at the Marine Conservation Biology Institute.

Yan Gao is a marketing specialist at Helicom, a San Diego-based company that provides wireless network solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Melissa Welp is headed to Namibia to serve in the Peace Corps until December 2006.
