Tim Hickey and his family are moving back to San Diego in early August after after the fantastic experience of living in Barcelona for many years.

Andrew Velthaus left Conservation International in September 2004 to work for the African Wildlife Foundation, which has opened up a whole new world for him. He serves as a Program Development Officer and his responsibilities include writing proposals and raising funding for conservation programs in eleven countries in Africa and writing articles for some of the foundation's publications. Last August, he traveled to Kenya and Tanzania, where, among other things, he participated in attaching a radio collar to an elephant.

Annika Alford is the director for International Insights at Yahoo! She is heavily involved in working with Yahoo's Japan and Korea markets.
Rob ('93) and Julia Osborn ('94) celebrated their first Christmas and New Years back in the States in five years with their two daughters and son. Julie completed teaching her first solo Bradley Method course for natural, husband-coached childbirth. Robert joined Gemini Mobile Technologies as Director of Business Development. He is also working with his former employer Vodafone, spending most of his time in Tokyo working on creating a cell-phone based 3D user community service that allows people to interact remotely in virtual space.

Steven Furbush has been with Shamrock Foods Company since graduating in 1994. His role in the company has grown from product management to system integration to business projects. He was promoted to Business Process Improvement (BPI) Manager in November 2005, where he is a member of the divisional General Leadership Team. He lives near the Phoenix Mountain Preserves with his wife Karen, where they enjoy regular hikes in the desert.

Elias Terman has joined the Corporate Relations team at UCSD on a part-time consulting basis and will provide market analysis, corporate development, and marketing consultation services. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Terman Consulting Group. Elias has authored numerous articles and publications on technology, strategy and international business including a cross-border life sciences manufacturing study for UCSD's San Diego Dialogue. He is a regular contributor to San Diego Metropolitan Magazine — San Diego's largest circulation business publication.

After four and a half years in Tokyo, Julie ('94) and Rob ('93) Osborn are returning to Sacramento, California, with their children.
December 2004
Aaron Held is transferring from the commercial office of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo to the same office in Monterrey, Mexico in January 2005.
