David Aldwinckle became a Japanese citizen, changed his name to Arudou Debito, and is an associate professor at Hokkaido Information University. In addition, he is a human rights activist, has authored two books, Japaniizu Onrii - Otaru Onsen Nyuuyoku Kyohi Mondai to Jinshu Sabetsu and its English version (Akashi Shoten 2003 and 2004). He also produces a regular newsletter and columns for The Japan Times. He maintains an extensive bilingual website on human rights issues and living in Japan.
David Lehr is spending the year at Stanford as a Fellow in the Reuters Digital Vision Program, working on an initiative to deliver agricultural pricing information to farmers in India via the cell phone. He says that the project has been incredibly interesting and he has received some outside funding and expects to conduct a pilot in the spring. David is also working on a project with Brooke Partridge (also class of '91) focused on China's education system.
February 2006
Lisa Solomon is still living in Hong Kong. It has now been more than a decade. She just wrapped up 10 years with CNBC Asia, her last post as CNBC Asia's Hong Kong bureau chief. Lisa is taking a several month break from work to spend more time with her family (including Zach who is almost 3 and Sophie who has just turned 1). She intends to start freelancing and will continue in TV journalism.

Hong (Hank) Ahn was nominated as the "Chair, Audit Committee" of the recently inaugurated state-owned enterprise, Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), by the President of Korea. He took office on July 18, 2005.

Robert Hamilton works for NASA conducting research on global climate change. His work occassionaly takes him to Japan.
May 2005
Tamiko Sher and her husband Brett are still living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Tamiko has progressed into her second year as an entrepreneur and is loving it. Their businesses, Mjita Trading Company and Z.A.Zen Marketing and Consulting, are doing well, Brett with an ongoing stream of new customers and products, and Tamiko with exports and some marketing. Tamiko also recently finished her commercial pilot's license, and has already flown around southern Africa on a commercial job.

David Aldwinckle came out with a new nonfiction book Japanese Only—The Otaru Hot Springs Case and Racial Discrimination in Japan.
November 2004
Liliana Ferrer-Silva recently moved to Boston. She is working for the Mexican Foreign Service and is commissioned at the Mexican Consulate General. She and her husband have a four-year old daughter, María Cecilia, and a two-year old son, Alex.
Jennifer Gee recently accepted a job with Gap, Inc. She is living in the San Francisco Bay area.
Bob Hamilton is working at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA as an international coordinator for a NASA project on global precipitation.
Jennifer Okimoto took a vacation to Africa and climbed Mt. Kiliminjaro in October 2004.
